Default One of the causes of Infertility is Smoking

I don't know if this is the right place to put this post, but i felt to give some knowledge to those are not aware of the link between smoking and interfility. Incase the moderator finds this thread to be suitable elsewhere, feel free to move it.

Extensive research has been done to find the link between Smoking and infertility, as a result of increased rate of interfility amongst those who smoke. The Advanced fertility center of chicago, one of the top research centers for infertility has presented the fact that Nicotine has dangerous effects on the maturation of eggs, on ovulation rates and fertility rates. The study cleared showed the chromosomal abnormalities in eggs that were exposed to nicotine. Their study essentially brought out some amazing facts which are important to ponder over. Another British research center has shown that there is twice the risk of being infertile (even after stopping contraceptive for 5 years) for a smoking couple than the non smoking couple. Another british research shows that smokers have 40% less probability of having children than their counterparts. They also laid stress on the fact that both smoking and passive smoking was responsbile for the 5000 miscarriages that happened this year and continues every year. Smoking also take the blame for 120000 cases of male impotence in men who are between the ages 30-50.

The bottom line is that most of us don't realise the cause of infertility, although its in front of your eyes. At times, try to ponder over what i said above.

Smoking is associated with infertility in women. Smoking can also cause early menopause which is important to consider for older women.
Smoking can also decrease sperm count for men. It can increase the man's abnormal sperm. The effects of fertility are related with the number of cigarettes taken.

Post Absolutely True

yes, smoking is major cause among women causing abortion or major complication during birt, Cigarette smoking can augment the threat of a diverse range of complications related to pregnancy such as premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding and premature placental detachment. Smoking also hinders the absorption of vitamins B and C and folic acid in pregnant mothers. Deficiency in folic acid can lead to flaws in the neural tube. Numerous chemicals present in cigarette smoke, for example carbon monoxide and nicotine, are toxic in nature that progress through a pregnant woman’s bloodstream and adversely affect the developing baby.
