Common Sleep Disorders
1. Insomnia: Insomnia is a name synonimous with sleep disorder. It is a disorder characterized by persistent difficulty in falling asleep or staying asleep despite the opportunity. This disorder can often lead one to frustration as many insomniacs are known to complain about being unable to put their mind to rest by closing their eyes for more than a few minutes a time. Different types of insomnia include, transient insomnia, acute insomnia and chronic insomnia.
2. Sleep Paralysis: A common sleeping disorder is sleep paralysis. The disorder is characterized by transient partial or total paralysis of skeletal muscles that occurs either upon awakening from sleep or while falling asleep. The symptoms include, paralysis, when the person can neither move any part of the body nor can he speak and hallucinations, when the parson might feel someones presence around or may hear strange sounds.
3. Sleepwalking: Somnambulism or sleepwalking as it is commonly known is a sleeping disorder where the sufferer engages in sleep activities normally associated with wakefulness while actually being in a sleep-like state. This disorder is most commonly observed in people with high levels of stress and anxiety or people with genetic factors.
4. Night Terror: Another commonly observed sleeping disorder is night terror or pavor nocturnus, characterized by extreme terror and temporary inability to regain full consciousness. More interestingly, a night terror can rarely be recalled by the subject. As against the normal beliefs, night terrors are distinct from nightmares. One of the most popular types of night terrors involves insects and this occurs most commonly of the female gender.
5. Restless Legs Syndrome: Wittmaack-Ekbom's Syndrome or more commonly known as Restless Legs Syndrome, is one of the top sleeping disorders. The condition is characterized by an irresistible urge to move one's body as a reflex action to stop odd sensations mostly in the legs, arms and torso. RLS is known to cause a sensation closely comparable to burning, itching or tickling sensation.

Sleeping Disorder
I have been on Rozerem for several years now as a sleep aid and it seems to help. I still have bouts of imsomnia every two to three weeks, but on the other hand, I don't need to take my every night -- if I'm really tired, I will fall asleep pretty fast. I am always in bed by 9 or 9:30 because I have to get up early work.

rozerem sleeping meditation drug
Rozerem is the only prescription for sleep medication that has shown no evidence of any kind of negative or adverse effects. Rozerem sleeping pills impact that very part of the human brain, which actually manages the sleeping-clock, and not on any other part. Thus the results from the medicine are most precise and accurate. You can buy rozerem here at lowest rates from rxonlinetoday.com

hey,
insomnia(sleeplessness ) stress together can ruin ones life life in more than one ways and I am one big example of that. but all said and done what has helped me most is yoga. I have been practicing this for some time now and and have been considerably benefited from that.
came across an article on
Steps to perform Synchronized Breathing
* Sit in a comfortable position with your back upright.
* Inhale rapidly through your nose as you tilt your head back while simultaneously inflating your abdomen.
* Immediately exhale quickly through your mouth as you bow your head down while compressing your abdomen.
* Repeat 10 to 15 times.
* Then relax with your head vertical and concentrate on the top of your head, the mid-brow area and the centre of your chest simultaneously while breathing slowly for 30 seconds.
* Repeat the entire process three times.
The spiritual ‘power centre’ at the top of your head regulates the pineal gland and melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep cycles.
When to practice this method
* You can practice this daily before going to bed
* Before returning home from work so you don’t bring stress to your family
* Before important meetings
* Whenever you feel stressed
hope you benefit from this

Sleep disorders can occur in people of all ages and can cause debilitating side effects if left untreated. Unfortunately, many people are unaware that their health problems may be a direct result of a disorder. In many cases, medicine isn't enough to treat their illness.
Some sleeping disorders need to be treated by a recognized sleep disorder center. If too much sleep or a lack of it is preventing you from functioning or pursuing activities that you enjoy, then keep reading. We'll discuss some of the most common disorders and how they can be treated.
More than 100 different disorders of sleeping and waking have been identified and grouped in four main categories: 1) Problems with falling and staying asleep, 2) Problems with staying awake, 3) Problems with adhering to a regular sleep schedule, and 4) Sleep-disruptive behaviors. Insomnia includes any combination of difficulty with falling asleep, staying asleep, intermittent wakefulness and early-morning awakening.
Episodes may be transient, short-term, or chronic. Insomnia can have associated health problems, such as anxiety disorders. The most common factors that contribute to insomnia include a poor sleeping environment, caffeine, certain medications, illness, heavy smoking and daytime napping.
If you're having trouble staying awake or experience excessive daytime sleepiness, then you could be suffering from hypersomnias. Hypersomnias include apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome. Apnea can cause breathing to stop intermittently during sleep, resulting in the person being awakened repeatedly.
Narcolepsy is a condition of daytime sleep attacks despite adequate sleep at night. A person with narcolepsy may suddenly fall asleep in any situation, without warning. Restless leg syndrome is characterized by an uncomfortable sensation, usually in the legs, that occurs primarily at night and when a person is relaxed. The uncomfortable sensation diminishes when the legs are moved.
Sleep disorders can also occur when a consistent sleep and wake schedule is disrupted. This often occurs when traveling between times zones and with shift workers on rotating schedules, particularly nighttime workers. Its disruptive behaviors are abnormal behaviors during sleep and are fairly common in children but are also experienced by adults.
They include night terrors, sleep walking and REM sleep behavior disorder. Symptoms of these disorders include difficulty falling asleep, fatigue, loud snoring, anxiety and difficulty concentrating.
Simple things like reducing your caffeine intake, avoiding sweets and practicing relaxation techniques like yoga can help you to enjoy a better night of sleep. However, some sleep disorders will require medical attention. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms and find out more about the treatments available.
You may be referred to a specialist who can perform tests and determine which course of treatment is best for you. This may include a combination of medication, lifestyle changes and using enhancing apparatus. Regardless of the technique, a good night's sleep is priceless.

In most cases, sleep disorders can be easily managed once they are properly diagnosed. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder. It occurs more often in women and in the elderly. It is not clear exactly why the body requires sleep, although inadequate sleep can have severe detrimental effects on health. Studies have shown that sleep is essential for normal immune system function and to maintain the ability to fight disease and sickness. Sleep also is essential for normal nervous system function and the ability to function both physically and mentally. Sleep disorders are conditions that prevent a person from getting restful sleep and, as a result, can cause daytime sleepiness and dysfunction. There are approximately eighty different types of sleep disorders.

Took me some time to read about all the possible causes and the remedies leading to the sleep related problems. However I do not understand what leads me to have disturbed sleep even though there is no such depressive thoughts in me. Well you wont be able to figure out an individual who is fully happy in life and I am no exception. But my sleep pattern has been severely disturbed in the last few months.
